Feds: Fargo VA Patient Had Marijuana In Hospital Room

Robert Burdick of Montpelier, North Dakota is charged with failing to comply with regulations that prohibit using and possessing marijuana on V.A. property.

A former patient is accused of having marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside his hospital room at the Fargo V.A. Medical Center. Robert Burdick of Montpelier, North Dakota is charged with failing to comply with regulations that prohibit using and possessing marijuana on V.A. property.

Court documents say the contraband, including a scale, was found by a nurse inside a black bag in Burdick's hospital room. Additional testing by V.A. Police showed two positive "hits" for marijuana.

Burdick's first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday in Fargo.
