The bill would extend basic protections in the home and workplace to members of the LGBT community.
Members of the LGBT community can also be kicked out of their homes or denied leases for their apartments.
Former State Senator Tom Fiebiger says it is a sad state of affairs that in 2013, someone can be fired from their job or evicted from their home, because of who they love.
This will be the second attempt to extend basic protections to the LGBT community.
The last attempt was in 2009 when the bill passed the senate but not the house.
