The Minnesota State Patrol says alcohol was involved in a crash Tuesday night that critically injured a Hendrum, Minn. couple.
83-year-old Nolan Underlee and his 79-year-old wife Doris were taken to a Sanford in Fargo with serious injuries. The Underlee's collided with a car driven by 25 year-old Brianna Pallota of Minot. State Patrol Sergeant Jesse Grabow says charges could be filed against Pallota depending on the investigation's results.
The crash happened on Highway 75 north of Moorhead. When deputies arrived, Palotta's car was on fire. She was pulled from the wreckage by Clay County Deputy Mark Empting. He used a pry bar and was able to pull her out before flames reached the passenger compartment.
