It looks like the southern Red River Valley and western Minnesota will miss the brunt of an early winter storm.
The National Weather Service has posted a "Winter Storm Watch" for northeast North Dakota and extreme northwest Minnesota Friday night through Saturday night.
Up to 6 inches of snow could fall along and north of a line from Devils Lake to Hallock.
Four inch accumulations are possible on a line from Cooperstown through Grand Forks to Roseau.
The southern valley, including Fargo-Moorhead, will likely see light rain Saturday, possibly mixing with snow toward evening.
