FARGO - A Fargo contractor faces $21,000 in proposed penalties for a construction accident that killed a 30-year-old man last May.

Trevor Skarphol of Fargo was killed when a large beam fell on him while he was working on a new addition to the Sheyenne ninth grade center in West Fargo.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration alleges that project contractor Lee Jones & Son Construction Co. committed three serious violations.

OSHA says Lee Jones & Son has requested as an informal conference to discuss the proposed citations.
