Fargo City Commissioners unanimously approved transfer of the liquor license of JT Cigarro to new owners.
The bar has been city radar since the new smoking ban took effect because the previous owner allowed customers to smoke inside a specialized room at the bar, claiming there was a loophole in the new law, despite objection from city health officials
The city put stipulations on the transfer.
The new owners have to comply with the smoking ban and keep their records clean.
Co-owner Barrett Prody told commissioners smoking at the bar and lounge "is a thing of the past" and that as of yesterday, the "special members" only room reserved for smokers is no longer in operation.
