A man who broke out of jail in Wahpeton 7-years ago is on the run again.
Charles Beeney escaped from jail in Huron, S.D. Tuesday morning. He used some type of a makeshift weapon and is considered dangerous.
Schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Richland County Sheriff Larry Leshovsky says he remembers Beeney well. He says he used a leg from a bed in his jail to threaten and take a jailer hostage. He was caught after a day-long search. Beeney was sentenced to five years in prison for the escape and trying to run over a drug task force agent.
