Nicholas Capes has been suspended after a video posted on YouTube showed him "taking a dive" against former Minnesota Vikings player Ray Edwards last weekend at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.
A viral video of a West Fargo boxing match has led to a fighter's suspension.
North Dakota commissioner of combative sports Al Jaeger says Iowa boxer Nicholas Capes has been suspended after a video posted on YouTube showed him "taking a dive" against former Minnesota Vikings player Ray Edwards last weekend at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.
Jaeger says Capes was a last-minute replacement to fight after Edwards' scheduled opponent didn't show. With the suspension, Capes cannot fight anywhere.
Jaeger says his office has been in contact with the Association of Boxing Commissioners and the fight's promoter, Cory Rapacz of Fargo. Jaeger says there might be more suspensions.
