ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Prosecutors want to try a 17-year-old Maplewood boy as an adult in the stabbing death of his 16-year-old girlfriend.

The suspect was charged Tuesday in juvenile court with two counts of second-degree murder.

He's accused in the death of Anna Hurd of North St. Paul, who was found stabbed to death on a Maplewood walking trail on Feb. 23.

The boy was arrested last Friday.

He's being held in the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center.

A juvenile petition against the boy alleges intentional second-degree murder and unintentional second-degree murder.

A preliminary autopsy report shows Hurd died of multiple stab wounds.

A witness told police that she was trying to break up with her boyfriend.
