Fargo firefighters didn't have far to respond to a fire. One of the department's trucks caught fire while parked in a garage at the Fargo Public Safety building.
Asst. Chief Leroy Skarloken says the fire started in the engine compartment of the pumper truck. A smoke alarm alerted firefighters who were elsewhere in the building.
The cause may have been an electrical malfunction.
The 2006 model truck is out of service.
An estimate of damage has not been determined.
