North Dakota Senate Confirms Higher Ed. Board Members

The Senate voted unanimously to endorse Gov. Jack Dalrymple’s appointments of Don Morton of Fargo, Kathleen Neset of Tioga and Kari Reichert of Dickinson.

BISMARCK, N.D. (GPN) – The North Dakota Senate has confirmed three people to serve on the state Board of Higher Education.


The Senate voted unanimously to endorse Gov. Jack Dalrymple’s appointments of Don Morton of Fargo, Kathleen Neset  of Tioga and Kari Reichert of Dickinson.


The Board of Higher Education has eight voting members and oversees North Dakota’s state university system. The system has six four-year universities and five two-year colleges, and almost 39,000 students.


Morton is a Microsoft Corp. executive in Fargo and a former coach of the North Dakota State University football team. Neset is a geologist and consultant to the oil industry. Reichert is an attorney and vice president for a Mandan information technology company.


Morton, Reichert and Neset are already on the board. Reichert and Neset were appointed earlier to replace members who had resigned.


Morton’s four-year term ends in June 2016. Reichert and Neset were confirmed for four-year terms that end in June 2017.
