ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar had a 70-to-1 cash advantage over Republican challenger Kurt Bills as their low-visibility race reached its final month.
Bills reported having about $68,000 in the bank as of Oct. 1, compared with the $4.8 million Klobuchar had in reserve.
Bills collected $454,000 during the period stretching from July and September. It was the best fundraising stretch for the one-term state legislator.
But Klobuchar pulled in about $800,000 to pad an already well-stocked account. She is airing TV ads in the race; Bills is not.
Independent polls have shown a wide lead by Klobuchar.
