Republican Representative Chip Cravaack has nearly twice the cash on hand as Democratic challenger Rick Nolan heading into the homestretch of a heated campaign in northeastern Minnesota.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Republican Representative Chip Cravaack has nearly twice the cash on hand as Democratic challenger Rick Nolan heading into the homestretch of a heated campaign in northeastern Minnesota.
Cravaack has $904,000 in the bank compared with Nolan's $477,000.
Cravaack also raised more money than Nolan from October 1st through October 17th.
The first-term Republican collected $227,000 compared with Nolan's $198,000.
Nolan, a former congressman, started October with $464,000 in the bank, while Cravaack had $1.1 million to spend.
Outside groups have spent millions of dollars in the race in the 8th District as the parties fight for control of the House.
