Invasive Species Signs Go Up On Otter Tail River

Large orange signs are up on the Otter Tail River south of Fergus Falls designating that part of the river as being as infested with zebra mussels.

Large orange signs are up on the Otter Tail River south of Fergus Falls designating that part of the river as being as infested with zebra mussels.

Low water levels revealed various sizes of zebra mussels on rocks and debris.

 

It wasn't a surprise since the mussels were discovered upstream in Pelican Lake and the Pelican River three years ago. The Pelican River joins the Otter Tail just south of town.
