Minnesota Tallies At Least 300 New Years"s DWI Arrests

State troopers and other police agencies had little trouble making DWI arrests in Minnesota New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

At least 300 drivers were arrested. Many law enforcement agencies conducted extra DWI patrols and made no secret of their plans ahead of time.

The state has averaged 295 drunken driving arrests over New Year's the past five years.
