The president of Gate City Bank says no customers who've been scammed by automated calls seeking account information will lose any money.
The calls, claiming to be from Gate City, have flooded North Dakota this week. Bank President Steve Swointek of Fargo says its possible that the calls are coming from outside the country.
The calls have been made to both landlines and cellphones.
The attorney general's consumer fraud division says people are told that their accounts have been compromised and they should provide account numbers.
"Visa" and "Mastercard" are referenced in some of the calls.
