The Minnesota Twins won their first ever World Series championship 25 years ago today in front of more than 55,000 fans at the Metrodome.
The Twins beat the Cardinals 4-2 in Game Seven of the 1987 World Series, as pitcher Frank Viola picked up the win, making manager Tom Kelly the youngest non-player manager to ever win a baseball world title.
Thousands turned out for a victory parade through the streets of St. Paul and Minneapolis -- honoring a team which barely had a winning record and was actually outscored during the regular season.
