NDSU has revealed that sanctions have been imposed against players on the Women's softball team.
A statement from head softball coach Darren Mueller says the action was taken as a result of violations of team rules and athletic department policies at a team party and a separate altercation on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 2012.
Mueller won't be more specific citing federal student privacy laws and the fact that the investigation is still underway.
Mueller says no team functions will be allowed for now and additional sanctions are possible.
KFGO News has confirmed that a criminal investigation is underway. The Cass County State's Attorneys office will decide whether any charges will be filed.
