Mother Says Paralyzed Hockey Player Moved Leg

The mother of a paralyzed high school hockey player says her son has been able to move some parts of his body.

 

 

 

 

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The mother of a paralyzed high school hockey player says her son has been able to move some parts of his body.

Leslie Jablonski says she was in tears when her son, Jack, made the slight movements on command while rehabilitating at Courage Center. The Benilde-St. Margaret sophomore was injured when he took a devastating hit during a junior varsity game Dec. 30.

Jack tweeted Tuesday night that he had slightly moved his left leg, ankle and finger. His mother says she can't help but be encouraged because medical specialists had told them previously movement was unlikely.

Jack was also strapped into a harness Tuesday so he could work on the treadmill for the first time.
