If you're going to be ringing in the New Year with alcohol, authorities are asking that you plan ahead and have a sober ride home.
Sgt. Ryan Dorheim says Fargo police will be out in force watching for impaired drivers. In addition to regular patrol shifts, extra officers will also be out specifically watching for drunk drivers.
Fargo police have made just over a thousand DUI arrests this year, which is down a bit over last year, when Fargo officers made 1,127 impaired driving arrests.
