Moorhead firefighters rescued a dog that plunged through the ice on the Red River.
Assistant Fire Chief Rich Eggert says the dog was walking on the ice when it fell into the water at around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. Eggert says the dog was probably in the water for about 20 minutes before crews could reach it.
The dog is fine and back home with its owner. Firefighters say the incident is a reminder to stay off the ice because it's dangerously thin.
