Hundreds of mourners filled a tiny church in New Town, North Dakota for the funeral of 64-year-old Martha Johnson, shot to death with three of her grandchildren last week in their New Town home.

The family’s pastor, Reverend Grant Patterson says Johnson was a civic-minded, churchgoing woman who loved life and her family.

Johnson and her grandchildren, ages 13, 10, and 6, were found dead in their home on the Fort Berthold reservation.
Funeral services for the children will be held Thursday.

A New Town man who killed himself the same day is considered a person of interest in the case.

The FBI is handling the investigation.

Its report is expected to be released in about a week.

Autopsy reports released by the state medical examiner says the victims were shot with a hunting rifle.

The possible suspect, Kalcie Eagle, died of self-inflicted cutting wounds to his neck.
