North Dakota child care providers are asking a state senate committee to return a child care stabilization bill to its original form.

As introduced, the measure would make 15-point-4 million dollars available for grants to child care centers.

The house added language that increases the ratios of children to teacher.

And providers like Marnie Krough of West Fargo don’t like it.

Parents of children in day care don’t like it either.

And they say they’re willing to pay their share of the child care bill - but they say they’re squeezed by the cost.

Beth Odalen of Minot has two children in a day care facility.

The senate human services committee has not yet taken action on the bill.
