Moorhead residents will have to pick a new mayor this year as Mark Voxland says he will not seek re-election.

 

 

 

 

Moorhead residents will have to pick a new mayor this year as Mark Voxland says he will not seek re-election.

Voxland, mayor since 2001, and part of city government for 26 years, announced his decision not to run for a fourth term during his annual "State Of The City" address.

Voxland said he had planned to step down in 2009 but dealing with the record flooding that year and working on flood protection for the city after that kept him in office.

Voters will pick Voxland's replacement in November.
