Help is arriving to help 160 distressed horses seized in Morton and Burleigh Counties last week.
Allison Smith, founder of Triple H Horse Rescue near Mandan says cash donations have topped $10,000 and there's been enough hay given to feed the 27 horses in the worst shape in her care for about a week. But more hay is needed and she's expecting vet bills will take a big bite out the donations.
Donations are still needed and can be dropped off at KFGO. Make checks payable to Triple H Horse Rescue.
Last week authorities in Burleigh and Morton Counties found 99 dead horses and seized an additional 157 live ones that hadn't been properly cared for.
Animal neglect charges may be filed this week against the rancher who was caring for the horses.
