Voters in Pelican Rapids have decided not to fund a major renovation and technology upgrade project for the high school.
The bond issue failed with 1,262 voting no and only 845 voting yes.
The highlights of the $18.4 million dollar project would have included a new fine arts auditorium, a three-court gym and a new main entrance and common space to improve security.
There would have been a new drive in drop off space instead of right off the highway.
A vote in 2005 to build a new school failed.
