Fargo Flood Preparations Moving Ahead

Fargo says it is doing well, preparing for possible major spring flood.

At last night's city meeting, commissioners got an update on flood control measures.

Currently there is a 73 percent chance of major flooding, which means 30 feet and a 10 percent chance of hitting 37 feet.

The city says it will not likely have to open up sandbag central because it has 750-thousand filled sandbags ready to go.

Since the 2009 flood, the city has updated its contingency protection plans and made upgrades at the water treatment and waste water plant.
