BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The U.S. Department of Labor says North Dakota recorded a record 44 work-related deaths in 2011.
The agency says that was up from 30 work-related deaths in 2010.
Officials say it was the largest over-the-year increase since the series began in 1992.
Fatal occupational injuries in the state were at the lowest level in 1992, when 20 deaths were reported.
