A backpack lined with tin foil has turned a simple shoplifting case into felony charges against a Moorhead man.
Dilworth police were called on a report of a shoplifter at Walmart and arrested 21-year-old Antonio Ramirez. Court documents say about $133.00 in stolen items were stuffed inside Ramirez's backpack, which had been lined with sheets of aluminum foil.
Possessing the foil is a felony in Minnesota, which could result in up to five years in prison.
Police say shoplifters line their bags with the foil to circumvent store security systems.
