The "dig out" continues from a storm system that dumped about a half foot of snow on Fargo-Moorhead and heavier amounts to the south and east.
Snowfall totals range from 8 to 12 inches across southeast North Dakota and western Minnesota.
The storm forced a handfull of schools to cancel classes and many others delayed the start of school.
Frazee-Vergas Superintendent Chuck Cheney says it was tough going on rural roads where up to a foot of snow fell and that's why he cancelled classes.
KFGO Forecaster Terry Spies says the snow and freezing rain contained more than a half-inch of precipitation setting a record for the date.
Travel conditions across the region were still considered "difficult" at mid-day Tuesday.
