Quite a Christmas gift -- one to big to wrap.

Joe Lueken has owned and managed two grocery stores in Bemidji, and one in Wahpeton for years but now has decided to retire at age 70.

Instead of selling his stores to the highest bidder, he will transfer ownership to the stores' 400 employees:

Brent Sicard, who started out as a custodian with Lueken more than ten years ago is now the new president and CEO.

He says the "gift" stunned everybody.

Joe will be handing the stores over to his employees at the first of year but he expects to still visit his stores often.
