New Years Eve will mark the second anniversary of one of the most bizarre murders in recent North Dakota history. Even though a man was convicted for the killing, the body of Kurt Johnson has never been found. One of the lead investigators, Griggs County Sheriff Bob Hook says the investigation will remain open until the remains are found.

The veteran officer says ,"We always hope for closure. The family gets to a point where they accept what happens as does law enforcement, but there's always that dull ache in the back of your heart...and until that day comes, it will always be there.

Prosecutors say Daniel Wacht shot, killed and beheaded Johnson after a night of drinking at a Cooperstown bar December 31st, 2010. In April, Wacht was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole. He has appealed the conviction.
