JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - The stained-glass windows of a Jamestown basilica are the focus of a $325,000 restoration project.

A donor is funding the project, which is meant to protect and preserve the hand-painted windows for the future.

Glass restorer Tracy Wallach says the quality of the windows is just ``top-notch.''

Wallach owns Classic Glass and has been working on the basilica's windows since May.

The project should be finished this spring, with all 42 of the building's stained-glass windows re-leaded and restored.

All 37 of the exterior windows will have new frames and protective exterior glass.

The windows were originally bought in 1918 for $5,000.
