Still Top Dogs, Bison 14 - Terriers 7

FARGO, N.D. - For a third straight year the Bison have reached the quarterfinal round of the FCS playoffs. The Herd looks to continue their run to a second National Championship, but will have to prove their still top dogs against the Terriers of Wofford.

The Terriers drove the field and converted on a huge 4th down inside the NDSU redzone. But the Bison didn't break holding Wofford to a field goal attempt and followed it up with a huge block to keep the score 14-7.

Put it was the following drive that NDSU may have came up with it's biggest stop of the year. Wofford moved the ball down the field before facing a fourth-and-short at the Bison 6-yard line. But Bison came up with another huge stop turning over the Terriers with just minutes remaining in the game.

The Herd held on to win 14-7 and punched their ticket to the FCS semifinals.

Despite all the talk of Wofford's powerful running attack, it was the Bison running game that struck first. NDSU marched down the field and Sam Ojuri capped off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Wofford looked to be driving for a score of their own before the Bison defense came up big once again when Travis Beck recovered a fumble at the 31-yard line.

The Terriers defense came up with a big play of their own early in the second quarter when Brock Jensen through an interception to Wofford defensive back Blake Wylie who returned the pick for a touchdown tying the game at 7-7.

Jensen used his legs to get the Bison offense moving again with a 39-yard run into Terrier territory. After two pass interference calls on Wofford, Jensen found Zach Vraa in the end zone taking a 14-7 lead into halftime.

The third quarter was a showcase of great defense for both teams. The Bison got a big fumble recovery when Wofford looked to be driving the field. Wofford's defense came up with huge play itself when they stripped John Crockett at the 20-yard line keeping it a one score game.
