DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - The Dickinson City Council has approved a 3,000-unit crew camp in the city despite objections from the hotel industry.

Council members unanimously approved Accommodate International's facility on Monday.

Hotel representative Doug Karle says the large crew camp would take away customers from the industry. He called it "a slap to the face."

Mayor Dennis Johnson says the city needs temporary housing for people coming to work in the state's oil patch.
