A North Dakota town will try to set a world record this summer for the most people dancing to Chubby Checker's song, "The Twist."
The attempt will take place during Casselton's Summerfest parade.
Parade Chair Greg Kempel said they will have no trouble breaking the record of 1,706 participants, which was set last year in North Carolina.
"The parade is one of the signature things, and the parade route is solid with kids that like candy," said Kempel. "People come from a long ways away. This parade has become a reputation of a huge parade. With this, we thought we're going to get them to have a little fun while they're waiting for the parade to start. We're going to get them out there dancing."
Interested participants should show up at the parade on Saturday, July 28th. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the parade starting at 11 a.m. The dance will be videotaped for verification by Guinness World Records.
Governor Jack Dalrymple and First Lady Betsy Dalrymple will be among those participating.
