There's been another step forward for a proposed ethanol plant near Jamestown.
DeAnn Brunner with the Jamestown-Stutsman Development Corporation says the Dakota Spirit AgEnergy ethanol plant has been posted to the EPA's federal registry for a mandatory 30-day public comment period.
The plant would be located in the Spiritwood Energy Park about 10 miles east of Jamestown. Brunner says if groundbreaking occurs as planned in December, the plant could be completed in early 2014. It would employ about 50 full-time workers when completed.
The plant would utilize steam from Spiritwood Station to make up to 75 million gallons of corn-based ethanol a year.
