The mayor of Minnewaukan, N.D. says there's still a lot of uncertainty among the town's residents but also hope.
The town, once 10 miles from Devils Lake has been slowly surrounded and swallowed by the rising lake.
Mayor Myron Jury tells KFGO News a nearly $5 million grant from FEMA to relocate or buy out dozens of buildings is a slow process. He's not sure how far the money will go. A lot will depend on what appraisers come up with in about 2 months.
Most of Minnewaukan will be "moved" or rebuilt on high ground about a mile northwest of the current site.
