Close Call For Fargo Police Bike Officer

A Fargo police bike officer was nearly struck by a speeding driver who was allegedly drunk who then crashed into an NDSU dorm about 2 a.m. Saturday.

 

 

 

 

FARGO - A Fargo police bike officer was nearly struck by a speeding driver who was allegedly drunk who then crashed into an NDSU dorm about 2 a.m. Saturday.

The officer estimates the car was traveling at 60 mph when it crossed a t-intersection at 12th street and 17th avenue north, hit the curb, blew across a parking lot and slammed into the wall of one of the housing units at University Village.

The officer had to dodge the car.

The driver, identified as Ryan Tyo, 21, of Fargo attempted to drive away but the car was too heavily damaged and he was stopped by the officer he nearly struck

Tyo was arrested for DUI.
