Work has started on razing the old terminal building at the Grand Forks International Airport. The former terminal has served the Grand Forks area since 1964.
The cost of removing the structure, as well as parking lot and asbestos abatement, is nearly $300,000. The demolition and removal of debris should take about a month to complete.
The airport board is currently involved in a study to determine how best to use the site.
The new Byron Dorgan Terminal opened in August 2011.
