Fire trucks in Fargo should be able to take advantage of yellow hydrants that are showing up in some parts of the city.
The yellow hydrants are connected to a new watermain flushing system that took five years to complete. Fire Chief Steve Dirksen says his department will still use the red hydrants, but the yellow ones could serve as a back up.
Fargo's newest ladder truck cost $843,000. Dirksen says it's red and white and will replace a ladder truck that's 30 years old.
