FARGO – The Fargo Police Department, with the assistance of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint within Fargo city limits between Aug. 30 and Sept. 6, 2012.
Since October of 2004, the Fargo Police Department has conducted 56 sobriety checkpoints which have resulted in 168 DUI arrests.
The purpose of this sobriety checkpoint is to deter impaired driving. The checkpoint is coordinated with current enforcement efforts by the Fargo Regional DUI Task Force. “Along with having additional patrol officers assigned to specifically look for impaired drivers during this enforcement campaign, the Fargo Police Department is hosting a DUI Checkpoint to further stress our dedication to your safety on the roadway,” said Sgt. Ryan Dorrheim. “It’s no secret we are out there.”
