LP Tank Suspected Of Causing Moorhead House Fire

A propane tank explosion is suspected of causing a house fire in south Moorhead.

 

 

 

 

MOORHEAD, Minn. - A propane tank explosion is suspected of causing a house fire in south Moorhead.

The fire late Monday afternoon started on the patio outside the home at 212 11th Street South.

The homeowner reported she started the grill, went inside to get food, heard a popping sound and saw both the grill and the vinyl siding on fire.

The woman and her two children escaped without harm.

Fire Chief Rich Duysen says the cause of the explosion is under investigation.

Damage to the home is put at $75,000.
