Man Sent To Jail For Allowing Snakes To Die In Storage Locker

A man who allowed 32 snakes to die in a Dilworth, Minn. storage locker will spend 20 days in jail.

 

 

 

 

A man who allowed 32 snakes to die in a Dilworth, Minn. storage locker will spend 20 days in jail.

Henry Atherton earlier pleaded guilty to animal torture, deprivation of food and shelter and abandonment.

Judge Galen Vaa said Atherton allowed the snakes to suffer for "a considerable period of time."

Deputies discovered the dead ball pythons when they were called to investigate an odor complaint in January.
