FARGO - Thirty soldiers of the North Dakota Army National Guard's 191st Military Police Company will soon be headed to Cuba; they're being deployed to the Guantanamo Bay detention camp.
Lt. Colonel Mark Tibor, who will command the year long mission calls it "unique." Most of those at the prison are detainees held from the war in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Most of the soldiers who will be deployed this fall are from the Fargo-Moorhead area. The unit was most recently deployed to Baghdad and during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, the 191st guarded and processed enemy POWs.
