BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - An oilfield consultant, a tribal college administrator and a retired school principal are finalists for North Dakota's Board of Higher Education.
A screening committee picked the three finalists Friday.
Gov. Jack Dalrymple will choose one of them to replace Claus Lembke. Lembke resigned from the board in April with a year left on his term.
The finalists are oilfield consultant Kathleen Neset, Turtle Mountain Community College administrator Carmelita Lamb and retired school principal Scott Halvorson.
Neset's application came in late. Another applicant withdrew, MDU Resources Group auditor Rebecca Dorwart.
There are two vacancies on the higher education board because Lembke and former board president Richie Smith have resigned. Both Lemke and Smith had a year left to serve.
The screening committee will pick finalists for Smith's opening later.
