Storms Produce Hail, Heavy Rains In Detroit Lakes On Tuesday
The Detroit Lakes, Minn. area is assessing damage after a series of storms produced large hail and heavy rains Tuesday afternoon.

The Detroit Lakes, Minn. area is assessing damage after a series of storms produced large hail and heavy rains Tuesday afternoon.
Golf ball sized hail in Becker County damaged cars and broke windows. Some of the hail was as large as baseballs. The hail stripped trees of their leaves and hit cars, leaving deep dings, broken plastic and cracked glass.
Glenace Metcalfe was in her basement when the storm moved in.
"I just heard this horrible loud noise and I came upstairs and closed windows, looked outside and it was like popcorn going wild, it was coming down like crazy," said Metcalfe.
Two inch rains were also common throughout the area.
