Dickinson Moving Forward On $30M Wastewater Plant

The city of Dickinson will review bids Tuesday for a $30 million wastewater treatment reclamation plant that officials consider a top-priority project.

 

 

 

 

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - The city of Dickinson will review bids Tuesday for a $30 million wastewater treatment reclamation plant that officials consider a top-priority project.

The facility two miles southeast of Dickinson will be able to accommodate up to 68,000 people.

Design is complete, and the plant should be open in about two years.

Plans have been in the works for several years, as the current system is pushing its limits.

Dickinson City Commissioner Klayton Oltmanns says the plant is being built to the city's needs but leaves the ability for expansion.

He says it will also be nice to transition to a mechanical plant and not have to worry about the smell from the lagoon ever again.
