Moorhead Man Arrested After Brief Pursuit

Michael Paul Cheney, 25, wanted on felony drug charges was arrested in Moorhead this morning.

 

 

 

 

MOORHEAD, Minn. - A man wanted on felony drug charges was arrested in Moorhead this morning.

Twenty-five-year-old Michael Paul Cheney was arrested after a brief pursuit. Cheney fled when a Clay County deputy tried to pull him over on 8th Street just before 6 a.m.

Sheriff Bill Bergquist says the deputy saw Cheney throw something out of the car. Other officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia in that area.

The chase lasted about five minutes, reaching speeds of 60 mph.

Cheney is jailed on numerous charges.
