Woman Reports Assault Near Island Park

Fargo police are investigating an assault near Island Park early Thursday morning.

 

 

 

 

Fargo police are investigating an assault near Island Park early Thursday morning.

Lieutenant Joel Vettel said a woman told police she was walking home around 2 a.m. when she was grabbed by a man in the 300 block of 7th Street South.

"She was approached by a male, 25 to 30 years old, 5'7" to 5'9", approximately 200 pounds with a larger build," said Vettel. "She also stated that he had lighter colored hair that was in a buzz cut. She states that the male approached her, made several comments to her, including at one point some obscenities."

The woman broke away and found someone to call 911.

Police searched the area, but nothing was found.

Vettel said the victim and the suspect are not acquainted.
